What is the intensive IDC Preparation workshop and who's it for..?
The IDC Preparation Workshop is for Instructor candidates before joining the Instructor Development Course. This is very different to every other Centres offering a similar IDC Prep Course as it will be run as a workshop rather than a course meaning I will target your perceived areas of weakness and help you develop those rather than teach everything from scratch again which can leave you getting bored and tuning out...
During the workshop you will review in depth the subjects of the PADI exams (Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills and Environment, RDP Table and Wheel) together with a review of PADI Standards and Procedures.
You will also complete a skill circuit in confined water and receive advice on which skills need improvement during your Instructor Development Course. I will be offering this workshop just before my IDC course starts or a few weeks prior to IDC.
The IDC Prep Workshop will be included Free of Charge to anyone who books onto my package (AI to MSDT inc EFRI) Assistant Instructor to Master Scuba Diver Trainer inc Emergency First Response Instructor (more info here)
Course designed for: Divemasters who qualified over 12 months ago, Divemasters who have had little experience in assisting students in training, Everyone who wants to be as up to date and ready as possible - remember its not just my job to get you through the course but to best prepare you for success in the diving industry after the IDC.
Okay I'm quite confident do I really need to do it..?
Having lots of experience in Instructor Training I would say that everyone should do it as you will be able to take more from your IDC, also ask yourselves the following questions:
If I took the Divemaster Physics or RDP exams now, would I get a passing score?
Do I understand how to plan dives using the Table, Wheel and eRDP?
Can I pass the Rescue Evaluation (unresponsive diver at the surface)
Can I surface an unconscious diver (from Rescue Diver Course)
Is my Physiology knowledge up to Instructor level?
Can I effectively demonstrate the following skills in the Pool - Hovering and CESA?
It all comes down to how much you want to become a PADI Instructor and how successful you want to be - please see link below for any questions and contact me with any of your concerns or time constraints.
Contact your "friendly" Course Director Steve to talk about any concerns regarding your personal PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) preparation.
