Do I need to take First Aid Training..?

Ask yourself the people you live with are generally your nearest and dearest - and yet how many of us could actually help a loved one if they had a heart attack, began choking or fell and injured their spine while out and about? Our Emergency Responder courses are designed to ensure that you'll not only enjoy your training, but most importantly that you'll be able to make a real positive difference if one of your family or friends falls ill.

This Course covers the Primary Care skills of scene safety assessment, universal precautions - communicable disease protection including barrier use, primary assessment, rescue breathing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), conscious and unconscious obstructed airway management, serious bleeding management, shock management and spinal injury management. Secondary Care skills include injury assessment, illness assessment, bandaging and splinting for dislocations and fractures.

I also include (in cost) training on the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units - proven to drastically increase the chances of patient survival compared to CPR alone for the treatment of cardiac arrest, and installed in public places around the UK in growing numbers. The PADI Oxygen Administration Course is available as a add on, which is useful for patients with severe breathing or circulatory difficulties. As with all our courses, personal copies of the materials (participant manual & DVD) are provided so you can take them home after the course and brush up your knowledge or refer to them in the event you need to put your training into practice, along with a certificate valid for 24 months.

When taking the Primary and Secondary Care inc AED Course from me I will optionally, combine this course with the Care for Children Course and or the PADI Oxygen Administration Course at a much lower cost when taken at the same time. After you become a (EFR) Responder you can enroll on the (EFR) Instructor Course and not only help others but I find by teaching this is the best way to keep your own skills refreshed.

Please (email me here) with questions or to book onto this life changing course.

Calendar shows where I will be and duration of my time there. If I am in your area and you want to join a course, contact me for locations. If you see any dates free and would like me to visit your dive centre or location, drop me an email with location, course interest and possible dates.
Want to know more about how your cylinders weight changes during a dive..? Video has information on what effects the weight change and has tests showing cylinders at different air pressures during dives in salt and fresh water. It displays whether they have Negative, Neutral or Positive Buoyancy. More details found at www.sidemountscubadiving.com
