I am First Aid trained do I need this Care for Children Course..?

Ask yourself if you're child or someone else child (right now) began choking or fell and injured in front of you, do you feel able to provide adequate care?

What is the Course all about and how is it different..?

The Care for Children course is a CPR, AED and First Aid training course that teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children (ages one to eight) and infants less than one year old. You'll learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adult conditions. The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with children, the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illnesses in children.

The course includes both primary care (CPR) and secondary care (first aid) skills. The primary care portion of the course prepares you to render aid to an infant or child with a life-threatening emergency such as choking or cardiac arrest. Secondary care focuses on developing secondary patient care skills and building your confidence to render first aid to an infant or child in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable. The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Pediatric Working Group of ILCOR, so whether it's your child or someone else's, you know you'll be capable of giving them the best care possible.

How do we go about it..?

This course can be conducted either as a standalone course (whether you've got an adult care qualification or not), or may be combined with the Emergency Responder course. Either way, you'll get the manual & DVD to keep as a reference and revision aid after you've finished, along with a certificate valid for 24 months.

If you're considering this course to work as a registered child minder, please see our (workplace first aid page here)

After you become a (EFR) Responder you can enroll on the (EFR) Instructor Course and not only help others but I find by teaching this is the best way to keep your own skills refreshed.

Please (email me here) with questions or to book onto this life changing course.
